The Gumonji-ho is a Shingon Buddhist rite where the mantra of the Bodhisattva Kokuzo Bosatsu is recited 1,000,000 times.
In 2013, the Enlightenment Bot was programmed to chant this mantra 1,000 times per day, reaching enlightenment after 1,000 days.
However, the Enlightenment Bot was only able to chant once before being denied by twitter’s policy preventing duplicate tweets. It turns out Twitter is not a good place to chant the same phrase over and over, making it an unfriendly place for meditative bots.
